Do You Want to Make a Difference?
The Christian Horizons Family Camp is a unique opportunity for families living with disability to enjoy a vacation together in a safe, fun and rejuvenating atmosphere.
What are Family Camp Volunteers?
Family Camp Volunteers provide one-on-one support to persons with exceptional needs and their families. Your support to a participant during retreat activities will allow parents and caregivers to receive restorative respite. Family Camp Volunteers are not expected to provide personal care or overnight support, administer medications, or perform intrusive behaviour interventions. Service as a Family Retreat Volunteer will give opportunities to build relationships to share the gospel and help others find hope and love in Jesus.
Family Camp Volunteers are asked to contribute financially to attend Family Retreat to keep cost down for families. We encourage Family Camp Volunteers to raise funds through family, friends and faith communities.
Qualifications
- No previous experience necessary. Family Camp Volunteers get training and orientation before families arrive.
- Applicants must be 16 years or older.
