Keydin Meliza Olivera Dias

Olivera lives with her mother and two younger siblings in Barrio Nuevo Amanecer, Esteli – a city north-east of Managua. Nicaragua is the poorest country in Central America. Olivera’s neighbourhood is known for its extreme poverty and violence. Women and children face the greatest risks. Olivera’s mother works in the fields doing agricultural labour. Olivera recently lost her sponsorship. She enjoys going to school, her favourite subject is math. She also enjoys joining celebrations in her community. Christian Horizons Global provides inclusive youth programs run by the local church leadership in Olivera’s community. She, along with children of all abilities, are welcome and encouraged to participate.
