What Your Funding Goes Towards

Our Haitian partners have identified just over 250 families in need in their communities in the Cayes area.

Each family will have different needs and the local leaders will work with our Haitian Christian Horizons team to assess priority. They will be providing kits that include:

  • Tarps and wood to create a temporary structure or patch a damaged home.
  • 20lb bag of rice
  • 5lb supply of beans
  • 1 gallon of cooking oil

Cleef lives with his parents and brother in Bon-Repos, Haiti. Cleef’s father works as a mechanic and his mother works as a saleswoman. His parents are not able to make an income sufficient to meet the needs of their family. Cleef works hard at school is eager to continue his studies. His favourite subject is Creole and he loves playing soccer. He would like to become a doctor some day. Sponsorship will contribute to his school tuition, clothing, nutritional supports, and health care. Christian Horizons Global provides inclusive classrooms and a weekly nutrition and Bible programs run by the local church leadership in Cleef’s community. He, along with children of all abilities, are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Valentina lives with her mother and two siblings in Cite Soleil, Haiti. Cite Soleil is the largest slum and most under-developed area of Haiti. Malnutrition and disease is commonplace. Violence is a constant threat from armed street gangs. Vilande’s mother makes a small income selling  food products but does not make an income sufficient to meet the needs of their family. Valentine enjoys school and likes to help her mother at home. Sponsorship will contribute to her school tuition, clothing, nutritional supports, and health care. Valentina’s mother will be invited to attend Biblically-based, entrepreneurial and savings training. Christian Horizons Global also provides teacher training to help build inclusive classrooms where children of all abilities are welcome and encouraged to participate.
