Haiti Recovery

In August 2021, Haiti was hit by both an earthquake and a tropical storm which has been devastating. Our partners in Haiti are reporting to us that 3 out of 4 members of their communities have damaged or destroyed homes.

Thanks to generous donors like you, we exceeded our goal of raising $18,000 for the Haiti Recovery Fund! Because of you, over 250 families in Cayes, Haiti, will receive emergency kits that include building materials and staple foods.

Most Haitians lived through the earthquake 11 years ago. For them, the trauma comes right back; even those with houses still standing are often sleeping outside, even in the rain, for fear of the roof coming down on them.

The need is still there as Haiti continues to face political and social struggles in addition to the devasting natural disasters. Would you please continue to support Haiti with prayer and financial support?

Our Haitian partners have identified just over 250 families in need in their communities in the Cayes area.

Each family will have different needs and the local leaders will work with our Haitian Christian Horizons team to assess priority. They will be providing kits that include:

• Tarps and wood to create a temporary structure or patch a damaged home.
• 20lb bag of rice
• 5lb supply of beans
• 1 gallon of cooking oil

Each package will cost $66 USD ($83 CAD)
